LyondellBasell Global Care Day

Global Care Day has provided an opportunity for employee volunteers and their family members to "make a difference" in each community where LyondellBasell operates since 2000.

Global Care Day is a company initiative challenging employees at each of LyondellBasell's worldwide locations to participate in community service above and beyond our ongoing community involvement activities on a single day each year. Participants include employees, family members and contractors.

Our objective is simple: complete a task in the communities where we operate that makes that community a better place to live and work. We want to make each community a little better because we were there. Equally important, our employees and their families will have a better understanding of their community as a result of this involvement. In the same manner, we hope that our communities get to know our people a little better through these interactions.

In spite of our challenging business environment in 2009 and the ongoing restructuring of our operations worldwide, management committed to continuing our annual tradition of community service by hosting Global Care Day on May 16, 2009. Teams at LyondellBasell sites around the world identified projects in their community that needed "people" to complete various tasks. That is why we started Global Care Day and that is one of our contributions to our communities in 2009.
